FMCG
Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or consumer packaged goods (CPG) are products that are sold quickly and at relatively low cost. Examples include non-durable goods such as soft drinks, toiletries, over-the-counter drugs, processed foods and many other consumables. By the very nature of its buying pattern, the packed product should be intact as intended as well as the packaging should be very attractive to catch the buyers eye. Food & Beverages
Most food products require modified atmosphere or vacuum packaging. This includes fresh meats, processed meats, cheeses, seafood and other perishable products- these require high oxygen barriers to avoid oxidation of the product. Substrates such as Poly-amide or EVOH is used to provide protection against oxygen contaminating the product. In cases of snacks, biscuits coffee & milk powder which are highly hygroscopic, these products require the highest form of protection from moisture.The packaging is thus custom combinations of film structures of mono layers or a composite laminated structure with the lowest Moisture Vapour Transmission Rate, and also provides excellent optics and high abrasion and puncture resistance.
Agro Chemicals
Agro-chemicals are of different types. Granules, powders or liquids. Depending on the barrier property required, the packaging is chosen. For example, for aggressive liquid packaging, the solution is to have a laminated structure which is two-ply or three-ply which has resistance to aggressive substances- this construction deters the product to penetrate the substrates. For normal powders and granules, depending on how hygroscopic the product is, the packaging is chosen accordingly. For hygroscopic agro—chemical products, a composite laminated structure with the lowest Moisture Vapour Transmission Rate is used.
